Happy New Year to everyone!
This is a biggy for Lorelei and me - a big birthday year... so we're planning to spend a month - lat July early August - in the USA!
So... friends, what's on? Is there a con we should be going to? Is there a great cheap hotel in New York that we should know about? In Memphis worth visiting? Is Nashville???! Should we go do Dollyland (or is it Dollyville?)? We plan to go coast to coast, starting in NYC, heading South, then up to Denver / Colorado Springs (yay!! friends!) then down to Texas, or New Mexico, or maybe over the border to Mexico itself... then up to San Francisco, Los Angeles and finally Las Vegas before heading home.
We don't drive so it's Amtrak all the way, with some flights when we have really massive distances to cover. Hmm, and Amtrak seems expensive - more than flying anyway!
I can't wait to (hopefully!) see all my friends, including gwirith, spookyh, tenaya, codyne, catalenamara, rivers_bend, truwest, joey112, bittermint and so so many others!!
I just hope and pray that the exchange rate is OK etc etc! I SO SO want to do this!
Anyway, a small YAY! for once-in-a-lifetime holidays :)

This week's Radio Times (TV listings) has a lovely one page interview with Richard Armitage... not giving much away, but with a truly lovely photo.

( Isn’t it lovely how a classical education always delivers the apposite quote? )

It's been a mad, wet Summer, and work is looming like a looming thing... and I've come back to some really lovely news - Dreaming of England, a Doctor Who Five/Turlough story that I wrote back in the dark ages, has won an award! I've posted the banner on my info page, and again here, 'cos I'm really chuffed :)

Just to let you all know that I'm still alive - drowning under various life/work related commitments, but still here!
I owe comments, thanks and more. I will get to them all one day (fingers crossed...)
And apart from that, I've not read any slash in months (sniff) and I've grown quite interested in Adam in Spooks. So, come to think on it, maybe I'm not me at all? Adam having hallucinations was quite pleasant. Not that I think RP-J can act particularly well, but he gets naked in a fine way. See Virtual Sexuality, a movie with nothing good in it apart from him pretending to be a girl in a boy's body.
Love to all - and good luck wishes to tigertrapped and the parcel she posted off this week!
